The opening senior races of the cross country season got underway today at the National sports campus with the AI Open cross country.<\/p>\n

In the senior Women\u2019s race Lucy Barrett took 24th<\/sup> place with Sharon Keilthy 34th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

While in the senior men\u2019s race Stephen Fay took 14th<\/sup> place with Conall Rogers 26th<\/sup>, Robert Frewen 30th<\/sup> and Dylan O’Brien 33rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

In the junior men\u2019s race Jamie Rankin Whelan finished 20th<\/sup> with Christian Finn 55th<\/sup>. In the junior women\u2019s race Siomha Magee took 24th<\/sup> place.<\/p>\n

With places on the Ireland team up for grabs at the master\u2019s home nations, there was some big performances produced.<\/p>\n

In the master\u2019s women\u2019s race Zoe Quinn came home in ninth place, taking third over-45. Orla Gormley finished 35th taking seventh O\/55 and June Comiskey won the o\/75 race.<\/p>\n

In the masters men, Ian Conroy took eighth place and third O\/40 with David Kirwin 21st<\/sup> and second O\/45. John Dunne was 22nd<\/sup> and third O\/45.<\/p>\n

Ciaran McCarthy was 39th<\/sup> and fourth O\/50, followed by Rory O’Sullivan in 86th<\/sup> place and Niall Power 93rd.<\/p>\n
