The women\u2019s team find themselves in seventh place heading into round two.<\/p>\n
Tara Meir starred for the team, winning the 60m hurdles in 8.97 seconds. Elsewhere on the track the 4x200m relay team of Sophe Becker, Hannah Byrne, Caroline Kavanagh and Niamh McCorry clocked 4:10.91 for fourth place overall on times.<\/p>\n
Also performing well were Esther Ntoko clocking 2:38.28 in the 800m, Isabelle Twomey posted 27.33 for 200m and Aoibhe Rooney cocked 12.12.35 over 3000m.<\/p>\n
In the field, Helen Buckey took seventh place in both the pole vault and in the hammer.<\/p>\n
The men\u2019s team finished in fifth place as Juan Ignacio starred winning the 800m\/3000m double. Juan won the 800 in 1:59.20 and 3000m in 8:38.61.<\/p>\n
Tinaye Mukanya posted 23.57 seconds over 200m.<\/p>\n
The 4x200m relay team of Tinaye Mukanya, Oisin McCorry, Jack Barry and Jake Daly collected six points clocking 3:45.20.<\/p>\n
Finn Beamish added eight points to the teams total in the triple jump with a best of 12.09 metres. While, Sean Maher throw the 56lb weight 4.02 metres.<\/p>\n
In the guest races, Orla Comerford clocked 7.74 seconds in the 60 metres. Comerford posted 7.75 seconds in the second series. Also over 60 metres, Isable Twomey clocked 8.36 seconds in series one and 8.40 seconds in the second series.<\/p>\n
Daniel Stone took second place in the 3000 metres clocking 8:19.32 with Stephen Fay third in 8:25.10. The race was won by Jonas Stafford in 8:04.95.<\/p>\n A youthful men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams got 2024 off to a solid start at the National indoor league round one on Saturday.
