{"id":8371,"date":"2024-05-28T23:38:46","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T22:38:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=8371"},"modified":"2024-05-28T23:38:46","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T22:38:46","slug":"becker-fay-favors-and-smyth-get-euro-champs-call","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rahenyshamrock.ie\/?p=8371","title":{"rendered":"Becker, Fay, Favors and Smyth Get Euro Champs Call"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sophie Becker, Brian Fay, Eric Favors and Mark Smyth have all been selected for the European Championships in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>Sophie Becker has been selected in the 400 metres and as part of both the mixed 4x400m and women\u2019s 4x400m relay teams.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Fay has been selected in both the 5,000m and 10,000m.<\/p>\n<p>Eric Favors will take part in the shot put. While Mark Smyth has been named in the 4x100m relay team.<\/p>\n<p>With four athletes, Raheny Shamrock have the most representatives of any club on the Irish senior team.<\/p>\n<p>While, Ciliian Kirwan (800m) and Mark Smyth (200m) have been provisionally selected and are awaiting qualification on ranking points.<\/p>\n<p>The list of qualifiers are set to be published on Wednesday May 29<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>This will be a second European Championship appearance for Becker, Fay, Favors and Smyth who all competed in Munich 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The European Championships take place from
