Brian Fay took third place in the famous Morton Mile as Fay and Cillian Kirwan broke the magic four minutes.<\/p>\n

Fay posted 3:52.41 for third place, a race that was won on his home track by Clonliffe\u2019s Cathal Doyle in 3:52.06. Sam Prakel of USA took second place in 3:52.32.<\/p>\n

With Fay just behind in 3:52.41 just .35 seconds off victory.<\/p>\n

It was a special night for Cillian Kirwan as he broke the four minute mile for the first time in 3:58.83. Kirwan becomes the second Raheny athlete with Brian Fay to break four minutes for the mile.<\/p>\n

The 1500m split shows that Brian Fay broke the club\u2019s 1500m record passing the split time in 3:37.73, shaving three seconds off his previous record.<\/p>\n

Another special and dramatic Morton Games as international athletics made a big return to Dublin.<\/p>\n

Niamh Kearney posted 4:22.13 for 13th<\/sup> place in the Women\u2019s 1500 metres. A race won by Britain\u2019s Shannon Flockhart in 4:04.98.<\/p>\n

While, Niamh Fogarty took fifth place in the shot put with a best of 54.28 metres. Antonia Kinzel of Germany won out with a best of 59.12 meters.<\/p>\n

It was a big night of athletics with Raheny Shamrock juvenile teams competing in the U10 4x200m mixed relay.
