Sometimes it takes a bit of time to write about a report on a result or event.<\/p>\n

Saturday night\u2019s 4x400m women\u2019s relay, left many including myself with that feeling.<\/p>\n

One of pride in our club mate Sophie Becker and her Ireland teammates Rhasidat Adeleke, Phil Healy and Sharlene Mawdsley.<\/p>\n

There is no words left to describe the race. They gave it everything to the very last second, something that shows the best of themselves, the best of Ireland and the best of Irish athletics.<\/p>\n

To Sophie, it is an honour to call you our club mate. To Rhasidat, Phil, Sharlene and Sophie you were brilliant, you were incredible. You are real Olympians.<\/p>\n

For those facing training tomorrow, remember the words of the International Olympic president Thomas Bach just before 11pm on Sunday August 11th<\/sup> 2024.<\/p>\n
