Raheny Shamrock landed three national senior gold medals on day one of the 2025 national track and field championships.<\/p>\n

Niamh Fogarty claimed national shot put gold with a best of 14 metres 29 centimetres. Fogarty\u2019s best effort coming on her second effort.\u00a0Second place went to Caoimhe Gallen of Lifford Strabane with a best of 12.40m.<\/p>\n

Eric Favors took men\u2019s shot put gold, retaining his title with a best of 19 metres 58 centimetres. John Kelly of Finn Valley took second place with a best of 17.85m.<\/p>\n

Five of Favors efforts were over 19.26m, with his best effort of 19.58 coming in his third effort.<\/p>\n

Daphni Doulaptsi Teeuwen took gold in the triple jump with a best of 13 metres five centimetres with Saragh Buggy of St. Abbans taking silver with a best of 12.74m.<\/p>\n

Teeuwen gold, was the club’s first ever national gold triple jump medal!<\/p>\n

While, Mohammed Ibrahim Halil took silver in the high jump with a best jump of 1.95 metres. Mohammed\u2019s jump equalled the long standing club record of Mark O\u2019Rourke and Neil Bollard.<\/p>\n

Mark O\u2019Rourke set that record way back in 1984 with Bollard equalling the record in 1991.<\/p>\n

On the track, Sophie Becker won her 400m heat in 53.25 seconds to progress automatically to Sunday\u2019s final. While, Daniel Scully posted 4:08.05 for 11th<\/sup> place in his 1500m heat.<\/p>\n

Sunday will see a number of the club\u2019s athlete go in search of more medals.<\/p>\n

Sophie Becker will line-up in the 400m final at 6:45pm. Becker will start in lane four with fellow Ireland 4x400m relay team member Phil Healy in lane eight.<\/p>\n

Whereas, Brian Fay lines-up in the 5000m final at 5:36pm.<\/p>\n

Niamh Fogarty looks to retain her Discus title with that event beginning at 5pm.<\/p>\n

Round one of the 100 metres for the women gets underway at 1:25 with Orla Comerford and Angela Castell Rodriguez both entered.<\/p>\n
