Double World Champion Orla Comerford will be honoured by the club at a reception in the Ardilaun room in the Red Stables, St Anne\u2019s Park on Wednesday next, October 22 at 4:15pm.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old had a sensational World championship in New Delhi last month securing gold medals in both the T3 100m and 200m events.<\/p>\n

Her double gold was the high point of a stellar season in which she won the 60m Mixed Classification race at the European Indoor championships in Apeldoorn before claiming victory at the Paris Grand Prix – where she set a new 200m personal best of 24.61 – as well as a victory in the Bislett Games in Oslo in the 100m in a new personal best time of 11.87.<\/p>\n

These successes follow on from her bronze medal performance at last year\u2019s Paralympics in Paris.<\/p>\n

Orla has been a member of Raheny Shamrock AC still her primary school days.<\/p>\n

There is a special treat for all the club\u2019s juvenile athletes next Wednesday as Orla will conduct a mini-sprint session with the kids at 5.30 in St Anne\u2019s Park.<\/p>\n
