Niamh Corry Collecting Silver

On Friday evening DCU’s Niamh Corry collected silver in the 5,000 meters posting 18:31.10 ahead of UCC’s Niamh Moore in 18:35.04. Shona Heaslip won out in 16:11.74.

There were three medals collected on Saturday with Trinity College’s Conor Bermingham taking pole vault silver with a best jump of four metres.

UCD’s Aisling Drumgoole took 400 metre bronze clocking 55.39 seconds, Phil Healy having won out in 53.98

DCU’s Eoin Strutt was also in the medals, taking 5,000 metre silver in 15 minutes two point two seconds Tom O’Keefe won outright in 14:58.52.

Also competing over the weekend were Dylan Kirwan who posted 61.61 seconds in the 400 metre hurdles final which was won by Thomas Barr.

Kirwan had qualified for the final clocking 61 seconds in his heat. While Mieke Kiernan finished fifth in the hammer with a best of 43.21 metres.

Sean Dowling posted 52.95 seconds in his 200 metre heat, while Dan Scully helped DCU make the final of the men’s 4×400 metre relay where he ran the second leg.
