Marathon season is in full swing with Barry Meehan posting a very strong 2:36:23 at the London marathon.
While at the Hamberg Marathon Wes O’Brien posted 2:45:30 with Ian McConkey clocking 2:47:40, Kate Purcell 2:47:41 and Gearoid Healy 3:06:35. At the Madrid Marathon Liz Rouine clocked 4:01.58.
At the Connamara Marathon Maura Dineen clocked 3:41:34 and Orla McElhinney 4:12:18. While, at the Connamara half-marathon Sarah Deneher clocked 1:54:54.
On Saturday, Cian Charlton won the Another Way 5k in 16 minutes 36 seconds with Stephen Butler second in 16:41.
They were followed home by Brian Aherne 21:35, Nicola Mooney 22:46, Catherine Groves 26:30, Suzanne Landers 32:22, Siobhan Mulvey 33:30, Margaret Byrne 34:44 and Orla Byrne 36:30.
Also on Saturday, Ger Fay posted 6:35.29 at the Royal Canal Longford Ultra Marathon 53km.
On Sunday, Matt Wade posted 37:16 at the St. Andrews AC Ashbourne 5km. While in the 10k Gerard Fay clocked 63:35
At the Duleek Cystic Fibrosis 10km Gerard Fay clocked 66:05. While at the Brecon Beacons 26.5 Mile Trail Race Rachel Ormond clocked 6:42:17 followed by Louise Keogh 6:49:16 and Jamie O’Doherty 7:40:26.
On Wednesday night Kieran Kelly won the Bay Road 5K in Derry posting 14 minutes 41 seconds and beating off Letterkenny’s Danny Mooney by three seconds. Whereas on Thursday, Cian O’Cuinneagain posted 21:11 at the Bandon 5k.
