Juan Ignacio Pena won the prestigious Rathfarmham 5km incorporating the Dublin 5km Championships. Pena clocked 14 minutes 34 seconds to win the Dublin championship and race outright. Robert Frewen led a good Raheny Shamrock contingent home at the Berlin Marathon clocking two hours 35 minutes and 18 seconds. Frewen was followed home by Barry Meehan 2:38:37, Sean Kelly 2:44:00, Wesley O’Brien 2:50:20, Conor Wynne Walsh 2:58:33, David Cronin 2:59:44, Philip McGovern 3:18:59 and Michael English 3:33:45.
