Dooney Second at GV Ryan 3,000

Conor Dooney took second place in the 3,000 metres clocking eight minutes 23.19 seconds as Eric Keogh extracted some revenge for the national road relay defeated in April.

Donore Harriers Keogh clocked 8 minutes 22.66 seconds just ahead of Dooney. John Dunne posted nine minutes five point 63 seconds in a crowded field of 27.

Kieran Kelly took third place in the GV Ryan 800 metres held in part with the Irish Milers Club meet in Irishtown.

In what was an extremely close race Kelly was edged for the win by Britain Markhim Lonsdale who took the tape in one minutes 47 point 78 seconds.

Another British athlete Canaan Solomon took second place in one minute 49 points 11 seconds with Kelly posting 1:49.12 for third place.

Eoin Strutt took third place in the 1500 metres clocking 3:55.41, the race having been won by Kilkenny City Harriers Eoin Everard in 3:51.24.

Other performances saw Daniel Scully posted 1:57.28 and Will Walsh clock 2:07.49 both over 800 metres. Sean O’Driscoll posted 11.71 seconds for 100 metres and Sean Dowling clocked a 200 time of 23.57 seconds. Dylan Kirwin posted 53.71 seconds over 400 metres.
