O'Donoghue Speeds to Round 5 win

Joseph O’Donoghue laid down a dominant performance to win the fifth round of the Lord Mayor Series in a sprightly sub 10 minutes.

Another large crowd of 85 athlete’s took to the course with O’Donoghue powering away early on to win out in nine minutes 51 seconds.

Dermot Gorman followed up last week’s victory with a second place finish in 10 minutes nine seconds with Simon Devenney third just 15 seconds behind.

Niamh Corry produced another powerful display to win the ladies race in 11 minutes seven seconds, finishing the race in seventh place overall.

Dublin Bay Runners Zoey Quinn took second place in 11 minutes 41 seconds with Aine Crimin third in 12 minutes 17 seconds.

After a double medal winning performance at the Masters track and field championships Adrienne Atkins was given presentation duties.

Adrienne’s first action was to award Ciaran O Coiglih his bronze medal from the same championships. Ciaran’s speech was captured by Maeve Devlin who also provided the photograph including the presentation to second place woman Zoey Quinn.
