Brian Fay starred as Ireland claimed a brilliant European Cross Country Championship men’s silver medal in Lagoa. Fay produced an inspirational run as the lead Irish man for the majority finishing in 11th place, the best ever finish by a Raheny athlete in this championship. Combining with Mullingar Harriers pair Jack O’Leary, who came through the field to finish sixth and Cormac Dalton in 11th place. Giving Ireland 26 points…
Michael Boyle was first Raheny athlete home at the Run Run Rudolph Half Marathon in Offaly clocking 1:26:40. Michael was followed home by Kieran Boyle in 1:38:12 and Eileen Walsh in 1:39:58. Waslsh was third lady overall behind Brenda Whelan (No Club) 1:33:15 & Charlotte Kearney (Donadea AC) 1:36:27.
