Becker, Kearney And Kirwan Claim National Medals

Sophie Becker, Niamh Kearney and Cillian Kirwan all claimed podium places on day two of the national indoor championships in Abbotstown. Favors Sets Indoors Championship Best

Eric Favors smashed the national indoor shot put championship best on day one of the national indoor championship. The championship best was 12 years old and set by Kieren Kelly with a best of 18.85 metres. It took Favors just one throw this afternoon to re-write the record book with a throw of 19.22 metres. Kearney Sets Club Indoor 3000m Record

Niamh Kearney set a new club indoor 3,000 metre record of 9:28.30 at the Scottish indoor championships in Glasgow on Friday night. Kearney won outright ahead of Louisa Brown who clocked 9:42.68.
