O’Leary Takes National 10 Mile Bronze

Cillian O’Leary collected bronze at the national 10 mile championship in the Phoenix Park on Saturday morning. Clonliffe’s Dave Flynn took gold in 49 minutes 55 seconds just 40 seconds clear of O’Leary with Clonmel’s David Mansfield taking second place in 50 minutes 32 seconds. Double Gold Medal National Juvenile Joy

Sean Maher won the Under-18 Hammer in 63.39 at Day two of the Irish Life Health National Juvenile T&F Championships in Tullamore. The Under15 discus saw Madeleine Duplo and Onome Akpoter compete, having been throwing for only six weeks. Madeleine took fifth place with a best of 27.98m, losing on count back for bronze. Fogarty Seventh At European Under 23

Niamh Fogarty finished an excellent seventh at the European Under-23 championship. The discus thrower had set a new club record of 52.19 metres in Thursday’s qualifying round, however nerves clearly got the better of her, fouling the first two attempts in the final.
