Cillian O’Leary collected bronze at the national 10 mile championship in the Phoenix Park on Saturday morning. Sean Maher won the Under-18 Hammer in 63.39 at Day two of the Irish Life Health National Juvenile T&F Championships in Tullamore. The Under15 discus saw Madeleine Duplo and Onome Akpoter compete, having been throwing for only six weeks. Madeleine took fifth place with a best of 27.98m, losing on count back for bronze. Niamh Fogarty finished an excellent seventh at the European Under-23 championship. The discus thrower had set a new club record of 52.19 metres in Thursday’s qualifying round, however nerves clearly got the better of her, fouling the first two attempts in the final.
