Road Relay Three-in-a-row

Raheny Shamrock men’s team made it three in a row, winning a pulsating Irish Life Health national road relays on home turf. The sun peered in and out throughout the day with gusty winds curtailing fast times but that didn’t stop some really great racing on the famous one lap circuit. Clohisey Third in Great Ireland Run

Mick Clohisey took third place in the Great Ireland Run and silver in the national 10km which is ran as part of the championship. Clohisey clocked 30 minutes 22 seconds just four seconds behind the race winner Oliver Lockley of England with Kilkenny City Harriers Brian Maher second in 30:20. An extremely competitive race, seeing Clohisey taking national silver again. Official results of the national championships are not yet available…

A Bronze Laden University Statue

There were bronze medals galore for Raheny Shamrock athlete’s at the Irish University championships. Orla Comerford of National College of Art & Design took 100 metre bronze posting 12.84 seconds. UCD Aisling Drumgoole taking part in her final University track championship took 400 metre bronze in 56.11 and was part of the UCD 4x400m which also took bronze. Charlton Wins Holland Cup

Angela Charlton landed the 2018 Holland Cup, the 58th running of the competition. The handicap race kicked off at 8pm on the traditional route from the taxi rank around Watermill road to the coast road, heading toward Howth and then returning to the village via the Howth road.
