Mick Martin was elected chairperson of Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club at the 2017 Annual General Meeting held on Thursday September 28. This is Mick third term as chairperson having last held the position in 1998/99. Paddy Noonan was returned as president for a second two year term. The Croppy Boy 10k/5k Run/Walk in honour of the late Ronan Walsh takes place this Saturday September 30th. The race takes place in Passage East, Co.Waterford where the Kincora 2 Passage event finished last year. Conor Dooney took second place in the Rathfarnham 5K as the junior men’s team took gold. Dooney clocked 14 minutes 44 seconds for second place behind Kilkenny man Brian Kirwan who won out in 14:40. The junior men’s team of David Brophy 15:55 (second junior), Andrew Hyland 16:38 (fourth junior) and James Hyland 17:07 (seventh junior) all set personal best to win the title.
