Mark Kirwan took fifth place in the Waterford half marathon posting 67 minutes 18 seconds. Paddy Hamilton won out in 66 minutes 27 seconds with Clonliffe’s Sergiu Ciobanu second in 66:34 and Thomas Hayes of Kilkenny City Harriers third in 66:43. The women’s junior cross country team have been confirmed as silver medallists from Sunday’s national cross country championship in Abbotstown. Niamh Corry led the team home in 20th place Ailish Murtagh took 22nd place with Lucy Barrett 51st and Aoibhinn McGoldrick 56th.
