It was another great day for Raheny Shamrock at the 2025 Dublin Marathon.
93 members finished the great race with a further 60 members providing stewards on the course.
There was excellent performances throughout with 25 members breaking the three hour barrier.
Will Boyle was the first club athlete home in two hours 32 minutes and 23 seconds and landed the Pat Quinn men’s cup which was first presented in 2006.
Fiona Stack was the first female club athlete home in 2:44.10 and took the women’s Quinner Cup.
Seamus O’Malley in 2:47.48 and Aoife Talty in 3:07:51 were the best of the club’s debut marathoners on the day.
The Dublin Marathon comprises the national, Leinster and Dublin county championships.
There are some provisional results available, however these are to be ratified by Athletics Ireland.
The senior women’s team of Shirely Coye, Tara Kennedy and Carmel Ward took 12th place. Whereas, the senior men’s team of Will Boyle, Barry Meehan and Anthony Eames were ninth.
In the master’s grades, the women’s O/35 team are down for gold, which is the team of Fiona Stack, Aoife Talty and Mary Walsh.
The men’s O/35 team of Robert Frewen, Graham Ahearne and David Jackson were 12th. The men’s O/50 team of Brian Kelly, Eric Champ and Roberto Ramano were eight.
Whereas, the O/50 women’s team of Tara Kennedy, Mary Lynch and Elizabeth Rouine are down for bronze.
There are a number of age category males which require approval from Athletics Ireland. These currently read, Fiona Stack O/40 Gold, Mary Walsh O/50 bronze, Liz Rouine O/60 bronze, Mary Lynch O/70 gold and Maurice O’Connell O/70 bronze.
We are awaiting results from the Leinster council and Dublin county board on medals in those championships.
