Weekend Road Racing Round-up

A large number of Raheny athletes travelled to Lanzarote for Saturday’s 10K and half-marathon and Marathon.

In warm and windy conditions, Micheal Counsel was first home in the half-marathon in 86:07. Phil McGovern posted 94:10minutes (3rd in category).

McGovern was followed home by Dave O’Hara 99:46, Martin Kelly 1:44.53 and Dave Feeney 1:52.11 and Orla Mc Elhinney 1:59.16.

In the 10K Dave Woods posted 45:30 with Stephen Wall in 55:45.

In the marathon Maura Dineen posted 3:46.44.

While in the Valencia marathon, Robert Kelly posted an impressive 2:29.00. Also performing well in Valencia were Will Boyle 2:31.00 and Cian Charlton 2:47.00. While James Roddy clocked 3.06 on the chip time.

Meanwhile, Jordan McDonnell was first home at the Jingle Bells 5k posting 14 minutes 55 seconds.

McDonnell was followed home by Adam Condon 15:04, Kieran Kelly 15:18, Daniel Scully 16:04, Dylan O’Brien 16:27, Aidan Jones 16:39, Barry Meehan 16:47, Rob Cross 17:23.
