Latham and Bruen Claim Joe Noonan Cup

The 48th edition of the Joe Noonan 5 mile resulted in first time victories for both Conrad Latham and Bernadette Bruen in largely suitable conditions for the annual pre Christmas lung buster.
Youth was very much to the fore in the Men’s event with the first 5 finishers all Under 18 years of age.
Latham 25.59, last years runner up went one better when beating  Mark O’Callaghan by 20 seconds with Charlie Gunawardhana a further 19 seconds adrift.
Bernadette Bruen was a very impressive winner of the women’s event , comfortably ahead of Tara Kennedy and Carmel Ward.
The mixed Team event proved once again a popular and fun addition to proceedings.
Here the Christmas Bells team of Charlie Gunawardhana, Catherine Groves , Keith Fleming and Clodagh Foley won the stampede to claim the first of the 10 prizes on offer.
