Freddy Keron Sittuk won the Limerick Marathon in a straight forward two hours 28 minutes 31 seconds with Peter Mooney of West Waterford taking second place some 34 seconds behind.
It’s Freddy’s second victory in a week, having won the Virgin Media Night Run last Sunday and having settled back into Raheny two weeks ago.
Back in Leinster Simon Ryan finished fifth in the Boyne 10K, clocking 34 minutes and eight seconds where the race was won outright by Paddy Hamilton in 32 minutes one second.
There was a sizable Raheny Shamrock contingent with Tara Kennedy-Monks coming home as fourth woman and winning the over 40 category in 40 minutes four seconds.
Other Raheny athletes were Michael King 38:22, Oliver Power 42:36, Paul Larkin 46:40, Connor Jennings 48:10, Angela Charlton 53:14, Niamh Donnellan 55:29, Fiona Coyle 59:44, Deirdre O’Dwyer 60:08 and Maeve Devlin 68:54.
In Dublin Gay Byrne took second in the over 50 category at the Tallaght 5K clocking 19 minutes one second with Martin Kelly posting 19:37.
While Patrick Philips clocked 32:05.45 for seventh place in the North West Kildare AC 5 Mile.
