Kieran Kelly made it three in a row as he landed the 2017 Goal Mile in St. Anne’s Park.
The Christmas day race down the avenue has taken place down the main avenue of St. Anne’s Park since 1972 and became part of the Goal Mile in 2001.
Kelly led home a huge crowd winning in three minutes 39 second, having taken control of the race in the first ¼ mile ahead of Eoin Strutt.
Kelly was presented with the Billy Peppard Cup, which this year showed an upgraded base, which lists
Siobhan Eviston made a welcome return to the Christmas Day race winning the Sean Giblin Cup for first woman home in four minutes 17 seconds.

Dave Brophy won the Shamrock trophy as first junior male home, while Aoibheann McGoldrick won the Noel Power Cup as first junior woman home.
Sean Barrett landed the McDermott Cup as first juvenile over the line.
Angela Charlton won the Brian McLaughlin Cup for being closest to their predicted time.
While Gay and Hannah Byrne landed the Freddy Fox Cup as the first parent and child home. A special day for the Byrne family, as it was Gay’s third time winning the title and now with three different children.
