I have been a member of the club since 1972, competing as a middle distance runner, and have served on many club committees down the years.
I am honoured to be elected as Chairperson at a time when the club has never been stronger, since its founding in 1958, in membership numbers, and in the success of its participation and high performance streams.
With two major capital projects underway – the clubhouse and the track – my focus will be to progress these projects significantly during his term.
In parallel with these once-off projects, I would like to strengthen the financial and governance aspects of the club in order to ensure that we can operate efficiently and sustainably over the long term.
I firmly believes that the new Executive Committee is very strong with a wide range of skills and experiences and I hope to build on the strong foundation laid down by previous Chairs.
