Mick Clohisey took third place at the Streets of Portlaoise 5K posting 14 minutes 48 seconds.
Clohisey was eight seconds behind the race winner DSD’s Hiko Tonosa. The race was the first part of the new Kia Race series which takes place throughout the year.
Adopted Laois woman Aileen Cooke posted 22:18 over the Portlaoise course.
At the Mullingar Half-marathon on Saturday Brian Leahy took fifth place in 73:57. The race was won by host club’s Johnny Daly in 72:21.
Ollie Power posted 94:37, Sarah Hawkshaw 1:46.55 and Niamh Donnellan 2:33.41.
Paul Cullen posted 44:21 at the 10k as part of the Tralee marathon, while Dylan O’Brien clocked 19:54 in the 5k. At the Balbriggan half marathon Paul Frewen posted 93:12 and Robbie Beggs 1:46.13.
While Martin Kelly rolled back the years to post 92:09 at the New York City Half-Marathon.
