Medals Tally-up At Juvenile Championship

Raheny athlete’s collected one gold, two silver and three bronze on day’s one and two of the national juvenile championship.

On day one, Michael Farrelly and Sean L’Estrange battled it out in the under 17 100 metres. Posting a one – two in the heats, Farrelly winning out in 11.06 seconds with Sean L’Estrange second in 11.12 seconds.

The final saw Farelly win out in a new championship best of 10.82 seconds with Sean L’Estrange capturing silver in 10.90 seconds.

In the under-16 boys long jump Scott Meaney collected bronze with a best of 5.99 metres. Edan Hurley, finished 11th with a best of 5.17 metres. Laura Fallon took bronze in the pole vault with a best of 2.40 metres.

Other results Caoimhe Flynn took sixth place in the girls under 19 800 metres in 2:27.08.

In the under-17 2,000m steeplechase James Hyland took second place posting 6:41.26. In the under-19 400m Jamie Sheridan finished sixth in 53.54 seconds.

While James Hyland finished seventh in the under-17 3,000 metres in 9:33.00 in the under-19 race David Brophy took ninth place in 9:38.23.

In the under-18 3,000 metres Triona NicDhonaill took fifth place in 11:06.47, with Valerie Tsukanova 11th in the under-17 discus in 18.26 metres.
