What a fantastic Saturday it was for Raheny Shamrock AC athletes, who once again embraced the spirit of Parkrun, showcasing impressive performances and strong club representation across Dublin, Ireland, and even further afield!
From seasoned runners to those enjoying a leisurely 5k, every participant contributes to the vibrant energy of our club. Let’s dive into the results!
š Podiums and PBs ā Outstanding Performances!
We’re thrilled to celebrate some truly exceptional results this weekend, with several Raheny Shamrock AC members earning top spots:
A huge congratulations to our overall winner:
- š„ Giovanni SALVATORE took home 1st place at St Anne’s Parkrun with an incredible time of 00:17:47! What a brilliant win!
Our podium placers didn’t stop there. We had three fantastic 2nd place finishes:
- š„ Colm DELANEY ran a superb 00:17:55 to secure 2nd at Poppintree Parkrun.
- š„ Alan FOLEY was 2nd across the line at Father Collins Parkrun in 00:18:43.
- š„ Michael MCENERY powered to 2nd position at Ardgillan Parkrun with a time of 00:20:23.
Rounding out the top three was a speedy 3rd place finish:
- š„ Brian SEXTON finished 3rd at Fairview Parkrun in 00:18:59.
š Top 10 Finishes Galore!
The strong performances continued with several more club members securing overall Top 10 finishes:
- ā Dermot COFFEY earned a fantastic 7th place at St Anne’s Parkrun with a time of 00:19:03.
- ā Brendan POTTER finished 8th at Lees Road Parkrun in 00:21:58.
These results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our runners!
š Parkrun Participation ā High Volume & Global Reach!
It was inspiring to see a grand total of 71 Raheny Shamrock AC members participating in Parkruns this Saturday! Our biggest turnout, as often is the case, was at our home turf, St Anne’s Parkrun, where a phenomenal 48 club members laced up their shoes.
Here’s a breakdown of our club’s participation at each event:
- St Anne’s: 48 participants
- Poppintree: 5 participants
- Malahide: 4 participants
- Father Collins: 3 participants
- Ardgillan: 2 participants
- Global & National Tourists (1 participant each): Avondale Forest, Clapham Common (UK! š¬š§), Fairview, Judarskogen (Sweden! šøšŖ), Lees Road, Marlay, Poolbeg, Progression, and Y PromenĆ¢d Abermaw (UK! š¬š§).
It’s fantastic to see our club represented not only across Dublin and Ireland but also internationally, with runs in the UK and even Sweden! Whether you were pushing for a new personal best or enjoying a social jog, every stride counts.
