Golden Women and Silver Men At Leinster Intermediate

Blaithin Sheil led the Raheny Shamrock women’s team to Leinster intermediate cross country gold, while the men’s intermediate team took silver in Kilkenny.

Blaithin Sheil took sixth place with Lucy Barrett seventh, Orla Manley 11th and Hannah Craddock 19th, for a total of 43 points three clear of Rathfarham WSAF.

There was good performance all round with Molly Rickard 33rd, Orla Gilheaney 34th and Eimear O’Keeffe 40th being non-scoring team members

The men’s team of Robert Frewen 11th, Graham O’Dwyer 14th, Davy Duane 17th and Brian Sexton 22nd, took silver with 64 points just 12 points behind Tullamore Harriers

In the Leinster masters cross country championship Michael McMahon took fourth place overall and fourth place over 35.

Others who ran were Ian McConkey 12th over 35, with John Clarke taking 21st. In the over 40’s Will Walsh took 11th place, Wes Grant 17th.

In the over 50 category Donald Quinn took eighth place, Mick Kehoe 18th place, Peter Smyth 20th, Dave Feeney 29th, David O’Hara 33rd.

In the over 55 category Michael Gygax took seventh place, Philip McGovern ninth and Jim Keogh 16th.

The Masters 50 team of Donald Quinn, Mick Kehoe and Peter Smyth took bronze, the masters team took fifth place.

Kate Purcell finished third overall in the women’s race and took over 35 silver, leading the women’s team including Sarah Quigley, Zoe Quinn to bronze.

Jenny Mulry finished eight over 35. In the over 40 category Sarah Quigley took eighth place with Zoe Quinn ninth and Jenny Colbert took ninth place over 45.

The masters 50 team of Adrienne Atkins, Jean Dunne, Bernie Manley took bronze with Adrienne Atkins finishing seventh over 50, Jean D took over 55 silver and Bernie Manley finishing seventh over 55.
