It was another busy and successful week of racing for the club, with athletes in action from the track in Lucan to the roads of Docklands, Kiltale, Termonfeckin, Fingal and the Nora Arthur 5km. There were individual wins, category prizes, strong team performances and a huge number of members representing the club with pride.
Thursday: Docklands 5km
The Docklands 5km produced one of the standout performances of the week, with Michael Brady finishing 2nd overall in an excellent 14:51. He was closely followed by Dave Rooney in 15:11 and Adam Condon in 15:12, as the club packed strongly at the front of the race. Congratulations too to Sorcha Delargy, who got a new PB for 5k at 20:44.
The men’s team of Michael Brady, David Rooney and Adam Condon claimed 1st place, rounding off a brilliant night for the club. The female team also delivered a strong performance, finishing just outside the prizes in 4th place.
Saturday: Kiltale 10km
Gerard Fay was back racing again on Saturday at the Kiltale 10km, completing the course in 1:07:59.
Sunday: Termonfeckin Half Marathon
Sunday brought more road racing at the Termonfeckin Half Marathon. Stephen Butler led the club home in 1:18:57, followed by Ciaran Chandler in 1:39:44, Angela Charlton in 2:04:16 and Gerard Fay in 2:21:52, completing another busy weekend of racing.
Sunday: Irish Life Fingal 10km
The Irish Life Fingal 10km was another major highlight, with Michael Brady taking the overall win in a superb 30:51. David Rooney continued the club’s success with 33:00 and 1st Male O35, while Fiona Stack ran 38:17 to claim 1st Female O40.
There were further category honours for Denis Murphy, who finished 2nd Male O65 in 46:35, and Mary Lynch, who won 1st Female O75 in 49:53. With a strong list of finishers throughout the field, it was another excellent showing for the club.
Sunday: Nora Arthur 5km
At the Nora Arthur 5km, there were first place positions for both Adam Condon and Siobhan Eviston. Adam crossed the line in 15:18, and Siobhan in 18:27. There was a large club presence on the day, although many athletes did not list the club name, making full results difficult to confirm; however we would like to thank all club members who took part in this run, which I know is very meaningful for a lot of people in our community.
