A small but elite group of Raheny runners and their supporters paraded the club colours on the annual trip to Santa Pola near Alicante to compete in their very popular half marathon writes Martin Kelly.
The events is run through the streets of the town and along the promenade and took place in cool and cloudy conditions.
Martin Kelly led home the group in 96 minutes 32 seconds followed by John Freir in 99 minutes 10 seconds.
Dave Gargan posted 1:46.31, Tony Lynch 1:48.52, Ann Marie Gargan 1:52.28, Helena Corcoran 2:07.42 and Mick Goodman in 2:11.47.
The runners were very well supported in their endeavours by Bernie Manley, Mary Purdue Smyth, Fiona Goodman and Micks father in law Dermot.
