Smyth Sets New Indoor Club 60m Record

Mark Smyth set a new club indoor 60m record of 6.85 seconds when wining the Leinster 60 metre title in Abbotstown.

Smyth’s new club record is also a championship record and is set two weeks after Sean O’Driscoll equalled the previous record of 6.89 seconds.

Meanwhile Cillian Kirwan took 800 metre gold and Matt Cotter was took silver the Long Jump with 6.40 metres.

Conall O’Toole finished fifth in the 200 metres.

Elsewhere, Sean Maher on winning junior section of the hammer at Dunboyne Throws Meet with a personal best of 55.58 metres.

In America, Colm Bourke jumped 7.21 metres in the long jump at the LSU track and field meet.
