New Clubhouse – Invitation to Club Members

As communicated with our members, Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club have been engaged with Dublin City Council (DCC) for some time on the potential construction of a new Club house on a site beside the Cara Hall.

Following direct contact with our local councillors, the club made a presentation to the north central area Committee meeting of DCC in mid-February.

We emphasised the dire need for a modern, fit for purpose club house and presented some indicative drawings of the scale and shape of our proposed clubhouse on the site we are seeking.

We received particularly good feedback at the meeting and the councillors agreed to support the process of progressing local authority assignment of the site to the club.

For your information we have included below the outline proposal we presented to our local councillors and DCC.

Your committee are very pleased to provide you with the update, that work has now commenced on the land disposal process from DCC to the club.

This process will take approximately six months to complete and will also require the approval of the full DCC councillors. We have also commenced the preparation of a detailed design of our new club house as our preparation for the planning approval process.

With the detailed design process underway, we wish to issue the invitation to all club members to send us your ideas on what you think should be included in our new clubhouse.

Indeed, if you have any advice on the design and other phases of this very significant and exciting phase for the club, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Please do send any suggestions or ideas to secretary @ rahenyshamrock.ie
