Dooney and Team Win In Bohermeen

Kevin Dooney landed the prestigious Bohermeen 5 Mile road race ahead of Mick Clohisey as the Raheny men’s team won out.

2018 national cross country champion Dooney clocked 23:53, three seconds ahead of 2015 national cross country champion Clohissey.

With Joe McCracken ninth in 27:02 and Ian McConkey 11th in 27:21 the men’s team garnered 23 points for victory well clear of hosts Bohermeen and collecting the Patrick Bell cup.

Others who ran were Colm Delaney 27:55, Keith Fleming 31:21, Colm Cassidy 33:00, Brian Cotter 33:12, Peter Rogan 33:25, Des Lyons 37:36 and Jean Dunne 38:52.

Amanda Langan 39:38, Deirdre O’Dwyer 40:30, Sinead Lyons 42:23 and Valerie Hand 53:24.

A very large contingent ran in the Antrim coast half marathon, posting some impressive personal bests.

Those who ran were Robert Frewen 74:39, Graham Ahearne 75:20, Graham O’Dwyer 75:34, Rob Kelly 77:21, Brian Leahy 78:36, Eoin Keegan 78:46, Eric Champ 79:23.

Meanwhile at the Run with wind meet at Mary Peter’s track, Oisin McCorry posted 23.31 seconds to finish second in the 200m with a +0.2 wind.
