Bronze Stone Leads Novice Men To Medals

Daniel Stone powered to national novice cross country bronze, leading the Raheny men to bronze.

Stone continued his impressive season this time with a swift 6km to beat East Cork’s Paul Hartnett to bronze and was less than 100m off gold medallist Liam Harris of Togher. Craughwell’s Jamie Fallon took silver.

In a very strong performance from the Raheny men Gavin Eccles took eighth place, Stephen Fay 28^th and Luke Murphy 37^th to give Raheny 76 points and bronze.

Leevale had taken gold with 52 points, just one point ahead of Craughwell.

There were strong runs from a competitive Raheny team with Dylan O’Brien 44^th, David Kirwin 56^th, Robert Frewen 67^th, Graham O’Dwyer 70^th, Brian Sexton 74^th, Graham Ahearne 81^st and Ger Redmond 99^th.

In the women’s race Aisling Ahern ran a strong race to finish 15^th and lead the team of Lucy Barrett 19^th, Orla Manley 67^th and Laura Brennan 87^th to sixth place.
