Brian Fay Sets New Club Indoor Mile Record

Brian Fay set a new club indoor record for the mile of 3:55.14 at the Milrose Games on Saturday night in New York.

Fay finished in second place in his race just behind Jake Heyward who posted 3:53.25. Fay’s time broke his own club record of 4:00.77 set in Athlone in 2020.

At the same meet, Eric Favors through an excellent 19.99 metres in the shot put. However a technical fault on the measure equipment means that no record is set for this throw.

Elsewhere Steve Berkeley set an Irish Master’s 60-65 age group record of 48.32  for 300m hurdles in the Los Gatos all-comers meet in California.

Steve’s club high jump record of 1.95m has not been bettered since he set it way back in 1979. Steve also ran 110m hurdles for Raheny and clearly has not lost his technique!
