Sophie Becker took a magnificent victory in the 400 metre B final at the Madrid World indoor tour.
2020 Olympian Becker posted 52.98 seconds for victory holding off Belgium’s Hanna Claes.
A brilliant performance from Becker which earned her 200 ranking points ahead of the World Championships later this year. Becker already has the A standard for the World indoor championships in Belgrade later this month.
Also, have to say it’s brilliant to see the Raheny singlet on the World stage.
Mixing with the big girls and a big win in the 400m ‘B’ Final in World Indoor Tour Gold Meet in Madrid for @sophiebecker_ with 52.98.
‘A’ Final still to come but will be at least 5th overall and lots of World Rankings points. pic.twitter.com/PfURzexVAf
