Wingfield Sets New Club Indoor 200m Record

Charlotte Wingfield set a new club 200m indoor record when winning gold at the Leinster championship on Saturday.

Wingfield posted 24.57 seconds for victory and a new club record. Wingfield had won her heat in 24.67 seconds. Wingfield also took silver in the 60m sprint in 7.85 seconds.

In the masters Paul Curtayne took silver in the M50 1500m in 5:31.05 and also took 800m silver in 2:37.14. Gary Aylward won gold in the M60 1500m in 5:16.86 and in the 800m clocking 2:33.88.

On the roads there was good club turnout at the Dunboyne 10K with Sam Kelly leading the club home in 34.43.

Kelly was followed home by Michael Kehoe 39.37, Brian Cotter 41.49, Tommy Crampton 42.14, Caitriona Costello 47.23, Mary Coghlan 50.42, Deirdre O’Dwyer 51.05.

Valerie Clinton 56.10, Patrick Beauchamp 58.24, Valerie Hand 68.06, Cathy Brady 69.45.
