Clohisey Lands National 10 Mile Title

Mick Clohisey collected his second national title of the year when winning the national 10 mile championship in the phoenix park today.

Clohisey came home in 51 minutes three seconds just five second clear of Annadale Striders Eskander Turki.

Clohisey led the senior men’s team to bronze with Eric Champ (59:34) and Terry Keogh (60:51) giving Raheny 63 points. Clonliffe took gold with 38 points with Donore second with 60 points.

The women’s senior team collected silver with 36 points, three points behind Donore. The team was led home by Aine Crimin (67:57), Shirley Coyle (69:11) and Angela Charlton (76:18).

The M35 team took silver with a total of 167 points. The team was Wesley Grant (62:56), Eoin Connolly (64:33) and Michael Kehoe (66:05).

There was silver also for the women’s F35 team. Elaine O’Hagan McNulty led the team home in 77:14 followed by Karen Slye (80:21) and Sarah O’Neill (91:22). That gave the team 153 points. Sli Cualann took gold with 81 points.

Also running were Brian Kelly 62:57, Keith Fleming 67:25, Gary Aylward 67:36, Brian McWeeney 68:56, Nick Alexander 75:59, Niall Buckley 79:46, John Clohisey 83:40.

Carl Moore 84:37, Dave Feeney 84:19 and Des Lyons 87:18.

Meanwhile at the Edenderry 10 mile Sean Kelly clocked 59:54 followed by Peter Rogan 70:54 and Gavin Judge 78:43.
