Freddy’s Wins Rolls on – Weekend Wrap up – 9 October

Freddy Sittuk kept his winning form on the roads on the move on Saturday winning the Dondea 10k in 32 minutes 29.17 well clear of Barry Murphy who clocked 33:04.24

Also on Saturday the cross country season came alive with the BHAA teachers cross country in Castleknock College.

Des Kennedy was first Raheny man home in 14th place covering the four miler in 23:00, Christy Reilly posted 29:30, Mick Martin 34:01

In the Women’s race over two miles, Mary Purdue-Smyth finished 32nd in 16 minutes 58 seconds.

While on Sunday, Eoin Strutt and Daniel Scully took second and third place at the Run with Catherina 5K in Cavan town on Sunday.

Strutt took second place in 16 minutes 12.7 seconds behind Analee athlete Cian O’Reilly who posted 15:40.4. Daniel Scully took third place posting 16:45.5

Seamus Rooney finished the Chicago marathon in three hours 30 minutes 14 seconds having ran a solid race passing the half way mark in 1:41.19.

While Conor Jennings was the only club finisher in the rebranded Irish 3/4 Marathon finishing in two hours 56 minutes 36 seconds.
