2023 Gets Underway With Tom Brennan Prizes

David Rooney was first Raheny athlete home at the Tom Brennan 5K on New Year’s Day posting 15:54 for 11th place.

Rooney led the men’s team home to victory with an impressive area of Shamrock’s in the park. Following Rooney was Robert Frewen 16:19.

Elsewhere Joe McCracken clocked 34.40 in the Beaufort 10k.

Also late post from during the week but some good runs at the Fat Turkey run on 27 December.

Ciaran McCarthy won out in 35:21 followed by Graham O’Dwyer in 35:29. Kate Purcell was third overall and first woman in 36:53.

Aine Crimin was second woman home in 41:06 followed by Carmel Ward 41:59. Trish Fitzgerald won the women’s O/50 category with Brian Kelly winning the men’s 0/50 category.
