Peter Somba Wins Hamill Estate Battle of Clontarf 10

Peter Somba took centre stage on Easter Monday winning the 2023 Hamill Estate Agents Battle of Clontarf 10.

Somba was locked in a battle with Daniel Stone until just after the seven mile mark before coming home to take victory in 51 minutes 59 seconds.

It was the Dunboyne man’s second victory in the race, following up his victory in 2018. Somba took the Leinster senior title and led Dunboyne home to team gold.

Ferbanes Mick Fogarty posted 53 minutes 14 seconds to take silver with Clonliffe’s Karl Nolan taking bronze in 53.24.

Edenderry’s Caroline Donnellan won the women’s race in 61 minutes 45 seconds with Sarah Baryga of Sli Cualann taking silver in 62:43. Bronze went to Aisling O’Connor of Edenderry in 62:52.

Tullamore Harriers took Leinster championship team gold.
