Mark Smyth ran an excellent second leg as Ireland took victory in 4×100 metre relay at the European Games this morning.
Ireland clocked 39.57 seconds to take victory with Israel second in 39.66 seconds.
Smyth took the baton from Isreal Olatunde and clocked 9.27 for the second leg, before handing over to Christopher Sibanda and then to Joseph Ojewumi who brought Ireland home.
Smyth’s time of 9.27 seconds was the second fastest of the day.
