Dublin Novice Kick’s Off Cross Country Season

The cross country season kicked off in earnest in Tymon Park this Sunday, with the traditional season opener the Dublin Novice

In the women’s novice race, Sarah Deneher was first Shamrock home in 25th place followed by Sinead Currie 26th, Blaithin Sheil 29th and Sharon Keilthy 34th.  The team finished in sixth place with a total of 114 points.

DCH took gold with 29 points followed by Crusaders with 33 and bronze went to Clonliffe with 40 points.

Also racing were Aoibhe Rooney 35th, Seona O’Keeffe 38th, 39 Bernadette Bruen 39th, Caitriona Costello 44th, Clodagh Foley 46th, Deirbhile O’Keeffe 50 and Eva Sheehy 60th.

In the men’s race, Barry Meehan was first home in 20th place followed by Vengatramanakarthikeyan Meiazhagan in 24th place. Gerard Curley was third man home in 52nd place followed by Christopher Quaid in 57th.

The men’s team finished ninth, some way off the medals, which were won by Clonliffe Harriers from DSD and DCH.

Also running were Robert Lea 67th, Aodhaghan O’Deasmhjnaiga 68th, Conor Wynne Walsh 78th, Giovanni Salvatore 82th, John Clarke 104th, Evilazio Araujo 108th and Robert Fox 109th.
