Brian Fay and Eric Favors picked up the Endurance Athlete and Field Athlete of the Year awards at the national Athletics Awards.
Fay landed the endurance athlete of the year after breaking Alister Craig’s 25-year-old national 5,000m record. Fay also won the national 5,000m championship and competed in the World Championships.
While Eric Favors landed the field athlete of the year, setting a national a new national indoor shot put record of 20.16m. Favors also finished in the Euro Throws Cup and competed in the World Championships.
The team of the year award went to the mixed 4x400m relay team, with Sophie Becker a star of the successful team as they finished sixth in the final.
On the night, Ciara Mageean and Rhasidat Adeleke won the overall award. Full Report here.
