Crimin just misses out at Intermediate

Aine Crimin was just outside the medals at the Dublin intermediate in Tymon Park yesterday.

Crimin finished just 20 seconds off a medal finishing fifth, the race was won outright by Clare Sullivan of Rathfarnham WSAF.

Sportsworld pair Sinead Tangney and Catherine Bambrick took silver and bronze with Crimin just outside the medals.

Women’s captain Orla Manley produced a very credible 15th place finish followed by Aileen Connolly in 26th place and Margaret Crowley 28th for a total score of 74 points and fifth place.

The intermediate title was won outright by Sportsworld with a very low 21 points, Clonliffe took silver with 53 with Donore just one point behind taking bronze.

There was disappointment for the men’s team when they finished in fourth place in the men’s intermediate team championship.

Wes O’Brien was the first Raheny man home in seventh place, less than 60 seconds behind Clonliffe’s Conor McGuinness who won outright.

Rory O’Sullivan was the next Raheny man home in 12th place with Colm Delaney 19th and Ian McConkey 22nd for a total score of 60 points.

Rathfarnham WSAF took gold with 33 points followed by Donore with 40 just four points ahead of Clonliffe who were 16 clear of Raheny.

Donald Quinn (37th) and Daniel Scully (55th) also ran well.
