Brian Fay made his Olympic debut in Paris this morning, missing out to progress to the 5,000m final.
Fay placed 12th in his semi-final of the Men’s 5,000m in a time of 13:55.35 in a slow tactical second semi-final in the Stade de France.
“I ran it as well as I could have but to call a spade a spade I’m just not good enough at the minute to really have that strong finish” explained Fay.
“I don’t think I’m that far off it. I’ll get it right eventually. I just need to keep showing up” Fay added.
