Brian Fay continued his develop as one of the club’s rising stars after an excellent sixth place finish at the national under 19 cross country on Sunday.
Fay has competed impressively throughout the season and his sixth place finish behind DSD’s Paul O’Connell who took gold is another step onto what should be a fantastic 2017.
Eoin O’Dwyer also moved quickly through the Dundalk IT terrain to take 14th place. However as Eoin and Brian were the only Raheny athlete’s competing, we had no chance of any team medal.
The teams in the national novice found the going tough in what is an aggressively fast competition with the men’s team finishing in 11th place.
Ciaran McCarthy finished in 47th place followed by Rory O’Sullivan (76), Ian McConkey (104) and Carl Conroy (111) with Donald Quinn the non-scoring Raheny athlete.
The championship was won by a certain team just up the road who wear amber and black and are already without doubt planning an assault on the national cross country club title.
The women’s team finished in 12th place as Sportsworld took gold, the team was Laura Brennan (50), Tara Kennedy Monks (62), Orla Manley (73) and Adrienne Atkins (86).
The non-scoring team members were Aileen Connolly, Helen Carr and Ann Marie Gargan.
