There was awards on the double at the Athletics Ireland awards on Wednesday.
Sophie Becker lifted the team of the year award as part of the women’s 4x400m relay team who finished fourth at the Olympic Games.
The full team was Becker, Kelly McGrory (Tir Chonaill AC), Lauren Cadden (Sligo AC), Rachel McCann (North Down AC), Phil Healy (Bandon AC), Rhasidat Adeleke (Tallaght AC), and Sharlene Mawdsley (Newport AC).

There was also a European Athletics coaching award presented to Kay Bannon. Sprint coach Kay has been many Raheny Shamrock successes and it is a credit to Kay to be awarded such a prestigious award.
