11 Medals Captured At Dublin Masters Cross Country

It was another good day at the Dublin Masters cross country championships in St. Anne’s park as Raheny Shamrock took home 11 medals.

There was gold for Fiona Roche F40, Tara Kennedy F50, Annette Kealy F60 and Dave Woods M60.

Kate Purcell took F40 silver, while there was bronze for Trish Fitzgearld F60, Ronan Wogan M45 bronze and Ciaran McCarthy M50 bronze

While, the women’s O/50 team of Annette Kealy first, Tara Kennedy second and Mary Walsh sixth took gold, some 19 points clear of second placed Rathfarnham.

The men’s O/50 team of Ciaran McCarthy third, Thomas McEvoy eighth, Terry Keogh 16th and Eric Champ 18th took gold, 15 points clear of Donore Harriers.

The men’s O/35 team of Ronan Wogan 13th, David Jackson 17th, David Kirwin 18th and Aidan Jones 20th took bronze.

The women’s O/35 team of Fiona Roche first, Kate Purcell second, Eibhin Eviston 30th and Carmel Ward 36th were just outside the medals in fourth place.

That resulted in Raheny Shamrock taking the overall prize and the Pat Hooper Cup for the fourth year in a row. The Shamrock’s scored 40 points to finish three points clear of Clonliffe Harriers.

It was a team effort with a major effort from across the club’s members. Those who ran were;

Women O/35: Clare Fox 40th, Caitriona Costello 44th, Lisa McCarthy 52nd, Roisin Dooley 78th, Rachel Ormrod 81st, Ciara Dowdall, Jennifer McGuinness and Kathy Smith.

Women O/50: Trish Fitzgerald 11th, Lorraine Byrne 23rd, Jenny Colbert 28th, Siobhan Foley 31st,  Catherine Groves 34th, Ann Marie Gargan 36th, Sarah O’Neill 37th, Una Cherry 48th.

Jean Dunne 50th, Caroline Farrelly 54th and Mary Lynch 56th.

Men’s O/35: Anthony Sharkey 21st, Ian McConkey 40th, Mark Hogan 44th, Niall O’Neill 45th, Conor Ahern 50th, Colm Dunne 56th, Eoghan Wrafter 60th, Paul Gannon 66th, Eoin Connolly 69th.

John Clarke 71st, Rory O’Sullivan 75th, Andy Kelly 77th, Kevin Morrissey 79th, Ross Ringwood 80th, Stephen McGuinness 86th,
