There was no World record for Kieran Kelly and the Irish team at the Believe and Achieve meet in Athlone IT today.
The Irish team of Eoin Everard (Kilkenny City Harriers), Joe Warne (Doheny), Kelly and John Travers (Donore Harriers) clocked 16 minutes 23 point 51 seconds, some seven seconds outside the record.
The Irish team were looking to break a 4×1 mile indoor World record of 16 minutes 16 seconds.
It was a brave attempt by the Irish quartet each covering one kilometre and their splits are provided below. It is however early in the season and hopefully they will have another attempt at it in early 2017.
